And YET, women treat it like it’s unattainable. This isn’t written from a critical standpoint, but one of simple misunderstanding. I’m a young woman in America, who grew up with magazines and beauty commercials everywhere. These things had me searching the mirror for something that I wouldn’t find there. Hell, they still do…

So, what is beauty? I read a few definitions and came across these things: attractiveness, pleasing to sight, pleasing to intellect…

But, what’s pleasing to one, may not be pleasing to another, right? So the saying, “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder” rings true…

But what if the beholder, needs to be you? Well, that’s when it gets hard. That’s when make-up, and plastic surgery come into play. My mom used to always say, “if you don’t like something about yourself, change it.” Well mom, what if there was nothing wrong with me to begin with?

But that’s almost impossible to see, when you’ve got a million pairs of eyes, telling you that you’re average, or less than beauty. Pretty, at most, on a good day, of course…
